Frauenmauerhöhle
One of the deepest caves in Austria

The Frauenmauerhöhle is a 644m long cave under the 1827 m high Frauenmauer and a part of the Hochschwab massifs.
The unique cave has two exits and is part of the widely ramified Frauenmauer – Langstein – cave-system. The cave system is on a length well over 32 km discovered and counts with an altitude difference of close to 600 m to the deepest caves in Austria.
You reach the west entrance of Frauenmauerhöhle from Präbichl Passhöhe (walking time 4 hours) or from Gsollkurve from B 115, Eisenbundesstraße (walking time 2 hours).
Local cave guides are available every Saturday, Sunday and holiday from June 15th till September 15th.
Guiding times on the east entrance are at 12:00 and 14:00 o´clock and on the west entrance at 11:00 and 13:00 o´clock.
In bad weather no guided tours.
